If you ring me up at 2:35 and I don’t answer,
The dawn is fast asleep and I’m probably in the relish of a lucid dream starring Mia Khalifa or Marylyn M,
Or busy growing my hair like Jimi’s or Basquiat’s
Look, I’m no stranger to despair or abdication or staying up in the dead of night thinking about how it be if I run away from myself and everybody else
So if you’re lonely, get yourself a cat or a dog or both
Check into a dead house where fresh bodies are prepared, catch the scent of braunol or a wound in putrefaction
You won’t feel any better but you will feel something.
If you ring me up at 4am and I still don’t answer,
You cannot sleep, hold that thought until it comes apart (like porcelain, like glass)
If you direly want to speak, and you’re tempted to send me a text
Please don’t say you love me, I won’t believe it
(I’m skeptical about these things but I’m going to be fine)
